Two suggestions: In the publicity for the next episode, please do mention somewhere that there is no live band accompanying the singers. Although once the show begins, the audience does accept the lack of musicians eventually, a lot of members of the audience were surprised to have a show celebrating Hindi film songs without live musicians. Yes, your costing will go up for hiring live musicians but it will add greater magic to the show and you could host the show in a much larger venue, with ticketing (to recover your costs). In a world increasingly filled with noise rather than music, and where so much of what we experience often feels more inorganic than organic, an evening like “Ibaadat Ka Safar – The Best of Ibaadat” is something to cherish. What touched us most was that the evening was not merely musical. It was warm, informative, respectful towards the maestros of yesteryears and, at the same time, thoroughly entertaining. The programme was so beautifully curated — the storyline, the flow, the selection of singers, the quality of their voices, the choice of songs and, most importantly, how each voice seemed so naturally suited to the song. It was evident that a tremendous amount of thought, care and sensitivity had gone into every little detail. Nothing seemed out of place; everything came together so seamlessly. Sandhya and I feel truly fortunate to have been a part of such a lovely evening. Hi, at the outset me and my husband felt we were the youngest in the crowd probably in the age bracket 40-45 yrs.
